I honestly have no idea how these celebrities seem to dance straight onto a beach immediately after Christmas? I'm guessing they must just have a hell of a lot more will power than I do...Christmas is definitely the season to eat, so I'm kind of glad that it's also the season for coats and hats and general hiding under oversized jumpers! January always means a new 'healthy eating plan' for myself and a series of failed attempts to shed the Christmas pounds, I never normally stick to it for long, I'm currently on day 2 of my 'regime' and can already feel my willpower wavering. Perhaps I will start on Monday? In the meantime though, I can amuse myself with nice coats, scarves and all things wintery, so here is my first outfit post of 2014!
I've had my eye on a few gorgeous Zara coats for the last few months, especially a lovely long black one and was seriously hoping it would come down in price during the sales...and sure enough, it did, but even the sale price seemed a little too expensive for me! Definitely irritating as their coats are so elegant and stylish, even if not particularly Petite friendly, but obviously I would have crossed that bridge when I came to it. So in the absence of a Zara coat, I went hunting for an alternative. I have a lovely, grey Warehouse coat which is fantastic for wearing in the day, but I realised I didn't really have a coat that was smart enough for the evening or anything important. I was determined to get a great deal in the sales, but failed, though I did eventually find this coat in New Look which is pretty much the exact replica of the Zara coat (just half the price). I love the fit of it and it's exactly what I was looking for, so I am definitely quite pleased with this :-)
The lovely brown boots were a Christmas present and an amazing addition to my little shoe collection. I'd been spying on them for a while and my clever Mum noted this and went back to buy them for me as a present - amazing! They're La Strada - but from TK Maxx, which I love for hunting out designer bits at good prices. High boots are great to wear in the evening and I use my shortness as an excuse to wear heels as high as I please! Being brown, I think they go nicely with blue jeans - only another thing I realised is that I don't own a decent pair of blue jeans either. Trousers and jeans are a bit of a nightmare to find so in the last few years, I've given up and stuck with leggings. These are River island leggings from absolutely ages ago but aren't really cutting it anymore - so a new years task is to find some decent blue jeans. Then I found this black faux fur hat in a cupboard at home - I've no idea where it came from or whose it is, but I've commandeered it as mine. Can't beat a nice faux fur hat on a bad hair day!
