I’ve been so unwell this week! I think I’ve got some sort of flu/virus thing which I can’t seem to shift, and I feel absolutely terrible. I also look a bit like a panda with my dark eye circles (not getting much sleep at the moment) so I’m not looking my best for photographs! I actually took these photos at the weekend during a particularly lazy Sunday! I definitely look a little pale though…coming down with this awful virus no doubt. Oh dear…so excuse the pale and focus on the lovely oversized jumper I’m wearing instead (one of my all time favourites).
I am such a massive fan of big, oversized jumpers! Sometimes you just have one of those days where you don’t feel amazing and all you want to do is cover up, so this is where this beloved jumper comes in handy. Plus my house is absolutely freezing, so during the Winter I tend to live in big knits like this. I think this Topshop number is a great option, it’s big and comfy, but it’s not too hideous – I love the colour and the studded detail on the shoulder is lovely! Being Petite I do have to watch it a bit with enormous jumpers, as they can definitely drown me a bit, but this is a pretty perfect size, and the sleeves are just right!
What do we think of these leggings? I bought them last year from Miss Selfridge but I haven’t actually worn them that much. I had ridiculous obsession with leggings last year – I went a bit mad on patterns and prints, and especially leather-look leggings, which Miss Selfridge were (and still are) amazing for. These are a bit different because they have leather panels over the knees, which is quite fun – it makes them a little more dramatic than your average black legging. I’ve done a few close up shots of the leg detail; the light was so bright when I took my photos that in my full-lengths, you can’t make it out all that well.
I always try and wear leggings or skinny trousers if I go for oversized jumpers. With a baggy jumper, you don’t really want baggy jeans and flat boots too…or you might look a little frumpy. You can obviously get away with it if your a six-foot-something long-limbed type, but for us little Petite’s, you’ve got to elongate the figure somehow. I opted for my trusty Topshop boots to do this work for me and it gives the outfit a bit of a lift by adding a heel. Hopefully I will be on the mend soon and able to take lots more photos where I don’t look quite so ghostly!
