I feel, for once, a bit of outfit triumph going on right now because I’ve been hunting for a white polo neck, a pair of wet-look trousers and a black hat for AGES…and I’ve stumbled upon all three in just a few days (and without having to spend too much). I love a good polo neck in Winter and thought it was a pretty standard essential, and developed a bit of an obsession with finding a white one particularly, so I was seriously peeved when I found myself scouring every single shop and not finding any white polo necks anywhere! In the end I stumbled on one on Amazon, which wasn’t too obscene in price. I’m always a bit wary of buying online because nine times out of ten, nothing ever fits, but amazingly this fits me perfectly and the material is lovely and soft, I really don’t think you can beat a polo neck for a bit of elegant style sometimes.

Trouser-wise, I found these on a shopping trip to Cambridge last week and they’re exactly what I’ve been after for ages. I tried them on and really loved them, they’re also really comfy too – after a bit of dithering, I decided they were worth the spend and think I’ll be living in them for a while! They are a teeny bit baggy…so they kind of bunch up a bit around the ankles…but I think that’s just standard for my little legs these days and doubt I’ll find a better alternative. Then we have the hat – I’ve been looking for the perfect one for ages, but when I mentioned this to my Mum, she piped up about her rather large hat collection (which I didn’t know about) – she doesn’t wear any of them any more, and one of the hats was this baby. It’s literally exactly what I would have looked for myself, so I’m so glad she’s let me use this one. It’s a Jacques Vert from back in the day – perfecto.
