Rimmel Glam Eyes Mono Eyeshadow – Not my usual choice of eye colour by any means, but I really wanted to try something new with my eyes – mainly in the evening – and decided to give this ‘Azure’ shade a go. I use so many shades of brown, cream and white that I wanted a change! So, after a few failed attempts of piling on way too much blue and looking slightly electric (and not in a good way) I’ve finally found out just how much of the colour looks good on my eyelids and I do love the effect. It’s a really light pale blue and just livens my eyes up, but again, you don’t want to pile it on! I love the Rimmel Glam Eyes for my eyeshadow, they have such an amazing range of colours and I love the texture, it’s really fuss free and comes with a handy little application brush. Always ideal!
Collection ‘Birthday Suit’ Lipstick – I bought this on my hunt for a pale lipstick that wasn’t going to break my bank account – much as I would love another MAC to add to my collection, I need to reign in my spending! This shade is seriously, seriously pale – well, it is on me anyway – but if you’re seeking the pale nude lip look, then you just need to apply a really small amount and you get a really pretty lip colour. I have to emphasize only using a teeny amount, otherwise your lips will literally look block white! Lately I’ve been applying a small amount of this shade on with a bit of clear lipgloss, it’s a nice natural day look (and the lipstick smells really nice, of strawberries!) I don’t know if I’d buy it again, I’d probably go a shade darker, but Collection is really well priced and they have a great range of lovely, affordable lip colours.
Rimmel ‘Pink Blush’ Lipstick – I’ve featured this lipstick so many times on my blog but I bought a brand new one and needed to photograph it in all it’s beauty! I haven’t been using it as much lately due to my amazing new MAC Creme Cup purchase, but I rediscovered it the other night (when the MAC lipstick got lost in my handbag) and I remembered how much I love my faithful Rimmel Pink Blush! It’s one of those lipsticks that you can put on quickly and – even if you’re pale faced, make-up free and looking awful – it just livens your lips up and makes you look ready to go! The texture is amazing, it glides on and it’s been my favourite lipstick since 2008…so that says it all really. No matter how many lipsticks I try, I always go running back to this, what can I say, it must be love!
Real Techniques Buffing Brush – A few weeks ago I did a post on the Real Techniques Core Collection set (here) that I received as a Christmas present and honestly, the brushes are something I cannot live without! Without a doubt the brush that’s come in the most useful is the buffing brush – my whole setting-powder experience is now conducted in a whole new light! I’ve recently started using the Bare Minerals Mineral Veil setting powder (you can see my review here) and this buffing brush works amazingly well with it, it gives so much coverage. The buffing brush is such a satisfying brush to use, you really do feel like you’re getting such amazing coverage and it’s really soft on the skin. I really want every single brush in the Real Techniques collection, they are absolutely amazing!
