Layering Dresses For The Cold

I am hating this cold weather at the moment, snow and ice are acceptable before (or during) Christmas, but now in January…I think we all want the Spring to arrive. But as much as I’m hating the cold, I am loving jumper dresses at the moment, and shift dresses, because they are so easy to layer up to help you keep warm (and stylish) through the Winter months!

Firstly, shift dresses are a current go-to, with their no-fuss shape which is easy to style with coats or jumpers, and a loose fit that is ideal for those of us who haven’t quite shifted the extra Xmas pounds (ahem!). Warehouse do some amazing jumper dresses and shift dresses, which are perfect for layering. I always find that a black or a navy shift dress is a must-have for the wardrobe because it’s so easy to accessorise with a bright jumper, cardigan or coat. Or even a statement necklace! And of course you can do this the other way round too, bright dress, dark coat.

But during these miserable winter months, ultimately you cannot beat comfort and that’s why I love the shift dress.

Then of course there is the latest love of my life: the jumper dress. Best creation ever I think! This amazing red jumper dress is from Tobi – as is the black knit dress below – both of which I have pretty much been living in lately because a.) it’s warm and b.) it goes really nicely with my array of black coats! It’s also so comfy, as are all jumper dresses and I seem to be currently filling up my wardrobe with them. Along with the fab selection that Tobi have, ASOS also offer a great selection that’s well worth checking out.

All these items can be layered as well which I think is what makes them so useful – watch this space for even more jumper dresses filling up this blog soon!
